Our methodology
How we rate shops and discounts
Here we explain how ratings, badges and copy on shop pages are produced — so you can judge which codes are worth trying. We focus on working codes and are transparent about our methodology.
At a glance
- Ratings are based on success rate and usage, never on paid deals
- We use anonymised usage data and feedback — no personal purchase data
- Codes that stop working are removed; broken codes can be reported
- Some links are affiliate links; you pay nothing extra
Our data sources
We use anonymised data on discount usage — for example how often codes are copied or clicked over time — plus feedback on whether codes worked. We do not collect personal data about your orders.
Shop ratings and stars
For each shop we calculate the average success rate of discounts over the last 30 days and assign a rating from 1 to 5 stars. We also show how many discounts were used recently, so you can judge how reliable the figure is.
Star ratings you give yourself are stored only on your device and do not affect the public rating — that is based on aggregated data, not individual votes.
Trust badges
Labels such as “Reliable discounts”, “Large verified discounts” or “Limited data so far” are derived automatically from success rate, how recently codes were used and discount size. The aim is a quick sense of code quality for a shop.
Updates and discount history
We regularly assess how well discounts perform and remove codes that no longer work or were reported as expired. On shop pages, under “Discount activity”, you can see usage over the last 7 and 30 days and how it trends in the chart.
Affiliate links and independence
Some links to shops are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking, we may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you. That income helps run and maintain our discount database.
Order and ratings are never determined by affiliate deals, but by usefulness to you: success rate, how often codes are used and relevance.
